Make sure to ask the jeweler if you can have the leftover metal they cut from your ring. It's called the "cutout" and it's good to hold on to in case you need to have your ring made larger in the future.

The basket and other details of your engagement ring can easily snag the material and ruin your favorite wool gloves or even slip off in the process. This risk is true for all knits, gloves, mittens, and even your favorite holiday sweater.

Why risk it? Experts recommend keeping your diamond and jewelry covered when braving the cold temps when going between your cozy house and warm car, warm car and heated office, and any situation that would expose your engagement ring to an extreme temperature change.

This one really applies all year but is especially important during the winter. Over time your precious diamond engagement ring can collect dust, dirt, and other gunk (this applies to a gemstone and any other engagement ring, by the way). Keeping your ring clean will ensure it always sparkles bright.

Check out our blog on How To Clean Your Jewelry At Home & Other Useful Tips, which gives you all the tips, including how to clean your ring, how often to clean your ring, what to use to clean your ring, and how you can keep your ring clean.

Most importantly, keep it clean and dry. Moisture is the culprit that can cause your ring to tarnish. So make sure to remove your ring when showering, swimming, applying lotion, and any other activity that could cause moisture to come in contact with your ring.

Winter is a magical time. The falling snow, cozying up by the fireplace, and of course, romance. We want to ensure that your engagement ring, and all your diamond jewelry, shine bright all season long. Watch out for snags, keep it clean, and remove it when necessary. Make sure your engagement ring keeps its shimmer and shine all winter long.

As shown in Figure 4, the impact ionization rates of the two devices were used to analyze the location of the avalanche breakdown in the structure. In the figures, different colors correspond to different impact ionization rate intensities; the red areas appear at the edges of the active area and the guard rings, indicating that stronger impact ionization rates occurred in these areas. When comparing the two simulation results, there was significant different between the active area and the guard rings. The c-SSBD device had a higher impact ionization rate than the Hybrid-SSBD device at the edge of active area, which implied that, under the same bias voltage, c-SSBD devices broke down more easily.

The electric field distribution of the (a) c-SSBD and (b) Hybrid-SSBD devices at a reverse bias of 1500 V. The stronger electric field is concentrated on the edge of the active area for c-SSBD, but more homogenously distributed on the guard rings for Hybrid-SSBD.

Based on the above observations, we believe that the guard ring structure changes the electric field distribution at the active area and guard ring edges, thereby affecting the breakdown voltage. Furthermore, the results show that the guard ring doping depth and guard ring gap greatly influence the breakdown voltage.

The simulation results of the total current density of the device with different guard ring doping depths are shown in Figure 10a. When the guard ring doping depth is shallow, the region with the highest current density is concentrated at the edge of the active area. However, when the doping depth exceeds 1 μm, breakdown occurs at the outer guard ring, so the current density at the outer guard ring increases. An increase in the guard ring gap results in stronger breakdown at the edge of the active area, and in Figure 10b, the current density increases with increasing gap width. Therefore, we can modify the breakdown voltage of the device by adjusting the structure of the guard ring, which is a good way to overcome the disadvantage of the low breakdown voltage of Schottky barrier diode detectors.

The total current density simulated results of the Hybrid-SSBD device: (a) guard ring doping depth, (b) gap width of the innermost guard ring to active area (guard ring gap width). The red line separates the two regions of the active area and guard ring area.

In this study, we have simulated the electrical crosstalk in back-illuminated and front-illuminated photodiode arrays as a function of substrate thickness and junction depth for single junction photodiode pixels, with and without guard-ring electrodes. The physical mechanisms responsible for electrical crosstalk suppression are explained using an absorption volume proportion concept. The results obtained show that significant crosstalk suppression can be achieved for back-illuminated thin substrate guarded-pixel arrays

Lopez said the special moment brought her to tears. "I was taken totally off guard and just looked in his eyes smiling and crying at the same time trying hard to get my head around the fact that after 20 years this was happening all over again," Lopez said. "I was quite literally speechless and he said, 'is that a yes?' I said 'YES of course that's a YES.'"

Following their engagement, a source exclusively told E! News that green is specifically her "favorite-color diamond." The insider shared, "Ben wanted the ring to be sentimental and put a lot of thought into it." 041b061a72
